Spanish Language Program
Project Puente’s Spanish Language Program is up and running!
Project Puente has established a relationship with La Paz Language Academy in El Paso, Texas. This past summer, four students from New Orleans lived at Casa Puente and studied at La Paz for four weeks.
La Paz Language Academay features highly trained native speaker instructors, customized private instruction, individual and small group classes for beginners, intermediate and advanced students.
What makes our program unique?
While you would take your Spanish classes at the La Paz campus, you could live at Casa Puente or with a Spanish-speaking family in El Paso, TX, if you desire a full immersion experience. Our program also provides classes and excursions, whereby you can continue to learn more about what is happening at the border. And if you desire, we can arrange for you to serve as a volunteer at a local non-profit agency, allowing you to both provide a service as well as add another dimension to your border education and Spanish studies.
Learning Spanish in this bi-lingual setting will give you a special advantage in a world and job market where bilingualism is becoming increasingly important. Your experience here will be a bilingual immersion, navigating cultural contexts while learning to communicate in both languages. Language programs in other places cannot offer this key element that Project Puente does.

If you are interested in studying Spanish here at the border and continuing your border education and being of service and living with a Spanish-speaking family or in the community at Casa Puente, please contact us. Our program allows you to study for as long as you like, in weekly units. In other words, you can come and study for one week, two weeks, three weeks, four weeks or as long as you like. The program can be tailored to your needs and goals.
