Why We Exist
We care for pastors as they care for others. Pastoring is hard work and especially in Latin America, where they face significant additional challenges due to their already difficult context. This Includes inadequate salaries, poor living conditions, persecution and a lack of access to essential services such as healthcare and education.
The following numbers provide a clearer picture of the struggles pastors in Latin America face:
65% are bivocational (The Latin American Theological Fraternity, 2020 & Barna Group, 2020)
$4,500 is the average anual salary (Comibam International, 2018 & Lifeway Research, 2022)
10% or less have any kind of health & life insurance (National Association of Evangelicals Survey, 2021)
18% have formal theological education (International Fellowship of Evangelical Students, 2022 & The Association of Theological Schools, 2021)
It is clear that pastors in Latin America struggle to meet their basic needs and that of their families. Regardless of these facts and sad realities, most pastors in this context display an enormous faith, resilience, strength and faithfulness that should be imitated by pastors in more privileged settings.
We strongly believe that by caring for pastors and helping them flourish, we will see that resulting in flourishing churches and communities.
